CHARDONNAY 2023

Grapefruit and riper citrus notes, lemon curd, crunchy pear, subtle nuttiness, vanilla, white stone fruits and spice.

Our 2023 Chardonnay was handpicked on March 9, 2023, pressed and floated off solids, then transferred to French oak barriques (30% new) for wild fermentation. 20% secondary malolactic fermentation and occasional battonage over nine months before racking and bottling in January 2024.

VINTAGE 2023

The 2023 vintage was marked by challenging cool and wet conditions over Spring, with regular rains producing lower yields than normal. An extended growing season evolved into warm and dry weather in late summer, preserving natural acidity whilst adding flavour and complexity to our maturing fruit.

Circulus Wine Chardonnay 2023 - 90/100 points

Barrel fermented in 30% new wood; 20% mlf. A bright, if not a touch forward, green gold. Aromas of ripe stone fruits and a hint of vanillin from the well-handled and already well-integrated oak. Gently textured, this flavoursome and reasonably well-balanced wine can be enjoyed now and over the next two to three years.
